If the author or printer has not used a comma before the non-restricting phrase you must see the meaning and still pause before the phrase.<br \/>&#8220;If you do not honour the Son, you do not honour the Father who sent Him.&#8221;<br \/>&#8220;Who sent Him&#8221; is a non-restricting phrase.<br \/>It does not restrict &#8220;the Father&#8221; to being one particular Father.<br \/>There is only one God the Father.<br \/>&#8220;Who sent Him&#8221; just adds information about the Father.<br \/>It is a non-restricting phrase.<br \/>So, pause before it!<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>THE NON-RESTRICTING PHRASE SIMPLY ADDS INFORMATION ABOUT THE SUBJECT.<br \/>PAUSE BEFORE A NON-RESTRICTING PHRASE.<br \/>A. And He came to Nazareth, where He was brought up.<br \/>D.  The Sadducees who say there is no resurrection, came to Him with a question.<br \/>CHECK<br \/>IN THE MATTER OF RESTRICTING PHRASES<br \/>Leave it out of the sentence. If the meaning then is NOT clear, the phrase is a restricting one.<br \/>IN THE MATTER OF NON-RESTRICTING PHRASES<br \/>Leave it out of the sentence.
